Canisius women’s lacrosse incoming freshman Rebecca Van Laeken has been named an Under Armour High School All-American – the first player in Canisius program history to receive such an honor.

Van Laeken – a goaltender from Canandaigua, N.Y. – will participate in the Under Armour High School All-America Game in Towson, Md. on July 12.

Van Laeken is one of just four net minders in the nation to be named to an Under Armour All-America team.

She plays her high school lacrosse for Canandaigua and also is the goaltender for the Relentless Hustle club team based out of Rochester, N.Y. that won the Club Lacrosse National Championship in 2013.

The goaltender is one of 10 incoming freshman that head coach Scott Teeter will add to his roster next season.
