The Canisius College men's and
women's cross country teams will return to action Sept. 30 when both
squads take part in the 38th annual Paul Short Run at Lehigh University
in Bethlehem, Pa.
Both of the Golden Griffin squads are coming off last week's Little Three race against local rivals Niagara and St. Bonaventure, where the men's team won the championship for the sixth-straight year and the women's team took top honors for the fifth year in a row. Freshman Chad Maloy won the men's race by a full 20 seconds after he completed the course at Veterans Memorial Park in Niagara Falls, N.Y., in a time of 26:27. Senior Christine Mulvihill won the women's event with her time of 18:54.
In 2010, former Griff Maura Frauenhofer placed second overall in the women's race to lead the women's program to a fourth-place finish while Nate McCabe crossed the line in 26:25 to help the men's entry score a 25th place finish.
