We leave for Air Force early tomorrow morning (very early), heading back to the same place we were last on the road, only a short few weeks ago. This being the quarterfinals and being the only series standing in our way of heading to Rochester for the Atlantic Hockey Final Four, everybody is just a little more amped up than usual.

It's a pretty cool feeling being able to play spoiler and ruin your opponents' season in one weekend during the playoffs. For those of us who went on long playoff runs in junior, it doesn't really compare to college hockey at all. The best-of-3 series we play in college puts quite a bit more pressure on winning game one as opposed to in junior were we'd play a best-of-7 series.

I feel like this season we have traveled by plane just as much as we have by bus. I don't know about everybody else but I feel as though I could walk through the airports in Chicago and Denver with my eyes closed. I don't really mind flying but I am pretty disappointed when there turns out to be no television on a flight. For guys like Logan Roe, Carl Larsson and Coach John Daigneau, who fall asleep as soon as they sit in their seats and don't open their eyes until the plane lands, they find no boredom in flying. I, on the other hand, need something to keep me occupied.

This week as the weather the warmed up by a few degrees, a good bunch of the guys could be seen around campus during the day doing things that can only be done in the summer months. Some of us played catch out on the street, dodging cars and trying not to break any windows. Others rollerbladed around Delaware Park like they were in a popular 1980s pop music video. I'm a snowmobilier, so the warm weather signals an end to my favorite season of the year. Kind of depressing. Either way, the warmer weather made the walk to and from class a little more bearable.

Now that we have played our last game of the season at Buffalo State, I can't very well encourage you readers to come out and support us at our games but hey, it'd be great if you wanted to fly out to Colorado this weekend to watch us play. If you can't find a flight that would get you to Colorado on time, then you can absolutely listen to our games live with Nate Lull. Great radio voice on that guy. Anyways, I hope everybody has a good weekend and thanks for all the support we've had throughout the playoffs.

Until next week, keep it simple,
Braeden Rigney
