Baseball Summer League Update

A number of Canisius baseball players are playing in summer leagues across North America in the United States and Canada. Here is an update (through July 2) on the Golden Griffins:

Northwoods League
Jesse Puscheck is hitting .281 with three doubles and 10 RBI with eight walks in 64 at-bats for the Kalamazoo Growlers. 

Brett Siddall is hitting .265 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 83 at-bats for the Lakeshore Chinooks, who posted a 24-10 record and won the South Division by 3.5 games. 

Connor Panas is hitting .273 with 10 RBI and six stolen bases in 27 games for the Battle Creek Bombers. 

New York Collegiate Baseball League
Anthony Massicci has been named an NYCBL All-Star as a member of the Syracuse Salt Cats. Through 28 games, Massicci is hitting .389 (fourth in the league) with 17 RBI and 27 walks, posting a .521 on-base percentage. The 27 walks are eight more than any other player in the NYCBL.

Christ Conley has been named an NYCBL All-Star as a member of the Wellsville Nitros. Conley is hitting .346 (seventh in the league) and 16 walks. Conley and Massicci are tied for third in the NYCBL in on-base percentage (.521). 

Iannick Remillard is 0-1 with a 1.69 earned run average for the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs. Remillard has 10 strikeouts and allowed just two walks and 10 hits in 10.2 innings.

New England Collegiate Baseball League
Mike Krische is hitting .296 with two home runs and five stolen bases in 15 games for the Vermont Mountaineers. Krische has a .457 on-base percentage and .556 slugging percentage in the NECBL.

Alaskan League
Devon Stewart is 2-0 and has not allowed an earned run in 10.1 innings (five appearances) for the Anchorage Bucs. Steward has posted nine strikeouts and allowed eight hits on the summer.

Alex Godzak is 4-0 in six appearances for the Bucs. Godzak has a 3.04 earned run average to go along with 27 strikeouts in 23.2 innings. 

Western Major Baseball League
Tyler Vavra has a 1-1 record with a 1.28 ERA in five appearances (7.0 innings) for the Okotoks Dawgs. 

The Valley League
Mike Elwood is 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA for the Front Royal Cardinals, who are leading the Valley League with an 18-7 record.
