QUICK HITTERS
  • Canisius concludes its stretch of five straight games in Western New York, hosting Rider in the Koessler Athletic Center on Monday.
  • Canisius has won 18 of the last 19 against Rider. The Broncs defeated the Golden Griffins 56-55 last season in the KAC, snapping a 17-game winning streak by Canisius in the series.
  • Senior Brittané Russell needs six assists to become the first active player in the country and first player in MAAC history with 1,200 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists and 300 steals.
  • Senior Ellie Radke matched career highs with 21 points and 11 rebounds Saturday. Radke’s next game will be the 100th of her career.
  • Freshman Whitney Ellenor scored a career-high 10 points in 13 minutes Saturday.
  • Canisius is playing its first night game in 10 games — with the last 7 p.m. start coming on Jan. 5, at Siena.
  • Canisius had a season-high 38 second-half points against Loyola.
  • The Griffs had a season-low with two steals on Saturday — the fewest since recording two against Loyola in the quarterfinals of the 2007 MAAC Championship.
  • Canisius has allowed fewer than 30 points in the first half in 17 of 22 games this season and ranks 40th in the country in scoring defense (57.9).
  • Canisius holds the NCAA Division I record for consecutive games with a made 3-pointer, having made a 3-pointer in 476 consecutive games.
RIDER SCOUT
  • Rider comes to Buffalo with a 3-18 overall record and 1-10 record in the MAAC.
  • The Broncs have dropped 12 of 13, with the win coming on Jan. 31, in a 54-46 win over Manhattan.
  • Rider is 1-9 on the road this season and 0-6 in MAAC road games.
  • Amanda Sepulveda leads the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game and is also shooting 34.6 percent on 3-pointers. Sepulveda had a career-high 26 points at Niagara on Saturday.
  • Sepulveda and Cintella Spotwood (10.3 points per game) have combined for 88 of the team’s 110 3-pointers.
  • Freshman Caitlin Bopp is a four-time MAAC Rookie of the Week. Bopp is averaging 9.9 rebounds per game, but has been battling a back injury and didn’t play on Saturday.
  • In MAAC play, Rider is 10th in field goal percentage, field goal percentage defense and 3-point field goal percentage. The Broncs are 10th in scoring margin, second in rebounding margin, 10th in turnover margin and seventh in 3-point field goals per game.
  • Lynn Milligan is in her third season at her alma mater and led the Broncs to a seventh-place finish in the MAAC last season.
SCOUTING THE GRIFFS
  • Senior Brittané Russell leads Canisius in scoring, assists, steals and minutes played. Russell also is posting career-highs in 3-point field goal percentage (37.4) and free-throw percentage (74.6).
  • Russell has two or more steals in 20 of the last 25 games and in 83 games in her career.
  • Russell has at least four rebounds in 17 games this season.
  • In MAAC play, Russell ranks in the top five in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (45.0), first in 3-point field goals per game (2.5), steals (3.0).
  • Senior Ellie Radke ranks second on the team in scoring (10.7 points) and first in rebounding (5.9). Radke matched career highs with 21 points and 11 rebounds against Loyola on Saturday.
  • Radke has scored at least 12 points in the first half of four games this season.
  • Junior Micayla Drysdale is the program’s all-time leader in 3-point field goal percentage, ranking first at 39.7 percent. Drysdale has made two or more 3-pointers in 10 games this season and in 41 games in her career.
  • Drysdale returned to the starting lineup against Manhattan on Jan. 11, and has started 76 of the last 78 games.
  • In 46 career MAAC games, Drysdale has an assist-turnover ratio of 1.35.
  • Senior Brianna Lucas moved into the starting lineup against Buffalo, making her 11th career start and first start since Feb. 17, 2008, at Iona.  Lucas has played in 115 career games.
  • Lucas has a career assist-turnover ratio of 1.21, including a 1.57 assist-turnover ratio this season.
  • Senior Tasia Lee is third on the team in scoring (7.1 points per game) to go along with 3.2 rebounds per game, 1.2 steals per game and a team-best 43.8 field goal percentage.
  • Lee is averaging 8.2 points in the last 11 games and has scored in double figures four times since Christmas.
  • Freshman Ashley Durham scored a career-high 12 points in the first meeting against Loyola. Durham is first on the team in free-throw percentage (85.4 percent) and is shooting 88.9 percent from the line since Christmas.
  • Freshman Allison Braun moved into the starting lineup against Siena on Jan. 5, playing a team-high 35 minutes, and has started the last 10 games.
  • Braun scored a career-high 14 points against Loyola. Since the start of December, Braun has five or more rebounds in 10 games and is averaging 6.3 rebounds in the last three games.
  • Freshman Whitney Ellenor scored a career-high 10 points in 13 minutes against Loyola Saturday.
  • Ellenor played a career high in minutes three times in January, and had a career-high six rebounds against Iona on Jan. 9. In the last 10 games, Ellenor is averaging 4.0 rebounds.
  • Junior Caitlin Krull grabbed a career-high six rebounds in a career-high 21 minutes against Siena on Jan. 31. Krull is averaging 13.3 minutes in the last three games.
  • Junior Tauralee Tenn played 11 minutes on Saturday, knocking down all four free-throw attempts.
  • Canisius is 5-0 this season when shooting 40 percent or better from the field and 4-2 this season when scoring 60 or more points, with both losses coming in overtime games.
CANISIUS VS. RIDER
  • Canisius owns a 22-6 lead in the all-time series with the Broncs.
  • Canisius has won 11 of the 13 all-time meetings between the teams in the Koessler Athletic Center, with the last eight of those wins coming by double digits.
  • Rider defeated Canisius 56-55 on Super Bowl Sunday last season, when Shaunice Parker hit a jumper from the top of the key with 3.3 seconds left.
  • Canisius coach Terry Zeh is 10-1 against Rider in his six years at Canisius.

  • Canisius closed the first half on a 15-1 run, building a 20-point halfitme lead, and cruised to a 78-48 win at Rider.
  • Senior Tasia Lee scored 16 points to go along with five steals. Junior Micayla Drysdale had 13 points, four assists and zero turnovers while senior Ellie Radke scored 12 first-half points.
  • Canisius made four of its first five shots and never looked back. Eleven Golden Griffins played in the game with 10 reaching the scoring column.
