GAME RECAP
The Virgnia Tech Hokies used a seven-run bottom of the third, to zip past Canisius baseball, 11-0, in Blaksburg, Va., on Monday afternoon. With the loss the Griffs drop to 10-6, while Virginia Tech improves 11-8.

The Blue and Gold pitching struggled with the Hokies offense early in the contest, as starter Nolan Hunt was chased after 2.1 innings in the loss, after he allowed three hits and five runs (three earned).

Reliever Alvin Vega came on and failed to record an out as he faced three batters, walking two and beaning another, before being relieved in favor of Michael Ginther.

Ginther worked 2.2 innings and allowed just three hits and no runs in his outing and managed to fan four Hokies in the no-decision.

Also seeing action on the bump was Brennan Smith, who worked two frames, and allowed three hits and three runs (all coming in the bottom of the sixth). Smith also recorded three strikeouts. Kyle Warner also worked an inning and set down all three batters he faced.

Virginia Tech out-hit the Griffs, tallying nine in the contest, while Canisius recorded five.

Three players for Virginia Tech, were responsible for a pair of RBI each as Jack Owens, Ryan Tufts, and Sam Fragale, all led the team.
